10 QUICK + HEALTHY SNACKS ON THE GO

These days we all are so busy! Our schedules are packed and we're on the go constantly. Whether running to work, to meetings, networking events, errands, appointments, family obligations... whew! The list seems endless. 

Sometimes with so many things to do, it's easy to forget to eat. But, not to worry. Here are 10 of our favorite quick + healthy snacks that you can bring with you while you're on the go:

1. Sliced organic apple with natural peanut butter

2. Hummus with raw veggies (broccoli, carrots, sugar snap peas, etc)

3. Half peanut butter and all-fruit jelly on Dave's Killer Bread

4. Handful of almonds and cranberries

5. Small green salad with light dressing

6. Two hard boiled eggs with Kashi crackers (dash of salt, pepper, hot sauce)

7. Plain flavored soy or Greek yogurt with fresh fruit and sprinkling of walnuts

8. Sliced banana with dollop of peanut butter (Tami's early morning pre-workout fav)

9. Smoothie (toss in what you like... a banana, some kale or spinach, fruit, greek yogurt) Here's a yummy recipe for a Strawberry Banana Oatmeal smoothie from Love Grows Wild. So good!

10.  Whole grain egg tortilla wrap (scrambled egg, feta cheese, green onions, roasted veggies of your choice or avacado, green salsa)

If we had to pick one fashion item that represented the Summer season it would be denim shorts. Worn with a graphic tee, tank top or over your bathing suit, denim shorts are a fashion summer staple. You can also pair your shorts with a denim top like Kelsey (above) from Twelfth Avenue, a local PDX fashion and lifestyle blog. So cute!

Here are a few of our favorite denim picks and a mini workout to tone your legs and get you ready for summer.


ONE // TWO // THREE


Go down the list of exercises 1-3 times, depending on your ability and fitness level. Repeat the workout 2-3 times per week on non-consecutive days. Also, be sure to eat clean, drink your water and notice the difference! Give it a try and let us know how you did!

Not only is summer a FANTASTIC time to get in shape, it's also the perfect time to get focused on YOU. Your health, your fitness and your well being. The sun will be out, farmer's markets will be in full swing and the longer days will help you feel like getting MORE done and taking more ACTION.

The first official day of summer is in just a few short weeks on June 21st. Until then, Wildfire Fitness and Portland Bridal Fitness will be offering up beauty, fashion, fitness-related tips, workouts and goodies... all counting down to our FUN charity work out event on Sunday, June 22nd benefiting Melody's Angels



 

WHAT: #PROJECTSUMMERBODY: A one hour charity workout  benefiting Melody's Angels

WHERE: Eastbank Esplanade, Portland Waterfront
ENTRY FEE: A positive attitude and a donation for Melody's Angels* (socks and/or personal items such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, lip balm, etc)

As stated by Melody, the group's amazing organizer, "it's made up of friends, family and their friends and family and word of mouth." There is no tax write off and they've just "pitched in" paying for everything out of their own pockets.

This month Melody's Angels is partnering with Portland Rescue Mission to package 300 Care Kits (socks, toiletries, food items, etc.)! Whoa, right?!
