GOOD EATS: CHICKPEA + AVOCADO SALAD

It's always right around this time of day… late morning... when my mind starts to wander. Instead of putting together client workouts and responding to emails,  I some how end up on Pinterest pinning amazing looking food that I. Want. To. Eat.

I'm hungry! Yes, the blueberries and steel cut oatmeal from this morning are gone and it's time to eat!

Lately I've been really in to chickpeas so when I saw this salad from Perpetually Chic I knew it was a match made in clean-eating heaven (yes, that really exists -ha!).


My stomach and I are so excited to try this salad! Literally as soon as I click 'publish' I'm headed to Fred Meyer to pick up some avocados and balsamic glaze. For this recipe and some yummy others, be sure to check out Perpetually Chic.

HOW TO WEAR A CROP TOP FOR EVERY BODY TYPE + MINI AB WORKOUT

Crop tops are a huge fashion trend this Spring - I mean huge! These cropped babes were all over the runway during fashion week and now, they're in all of your favorite stores.

I personally love this trend because they're multifaceted and super easy to style. From ultra girly, to urban or punk rock - a crop top is definitely a versatile piece that every girl should own. 

A Crop Top For Everybody Type:

Small Chest: If you have a smaller bust, go for crop tops with a print or pattern. This will give the illusion of a fuller bust.

Large Chest: Avoid crop tops with a deep neckline or plunge as this will only highlight your bust. Crop tops made of stretchy material are a good pick because they'll stretch to cover your bust comfortably. 


Curvy: Many curvy girls shy away from crop tops because they think you cannot wear these tops unless you're thin. This is simply untrue. If you have a little more 'junk in your trunk' pair a crop top with a high-waisted skirt or pants. This will draw attention to the smallest part of your midsection and show off your curves flawlessly. 


Long & Lean: A crop top that falls at your natural waist paired with bottoms that hit a few inches below lengthen your waist and accentuate your thin frame.

For Your Body: Regardless of  your body type, here's a mini workout you can do at home to tone your midsection, strengthen your abs and keep those love handles at bay. 


5 REASONS YOU SHOULD COME TO WILDFIRE WEDNESDAYS

  1. It’s for everyone. * The classes are interval based... high intensity interval training (HIIT) to be more precise. You’ll work at your own pace and capability, working harder at times, then recovering. It works your total body holistically as it was designed to do.  You'll gain lean, more powerful muscles so that you can access functional strength while increasing your mobility.
  4. It combines strength and cardio. No more endless hours on the treadmill or sitting in some complicated machine with a picture of the one muscle or area it says it works. Again, ugh! Your body is your machine. Your heart and lungs will be working hard, but so will you muscles. Your metabolism will also continue to be revved up even hours after you’re done. Win-win!
  5. It’s better than anything else you’re doing right now. This is a fact supported by science. Research has shown that few, if any training modalities match the power of interval training in terms of bang for your buck, maximum benefits, minimum time. If you’re looking to build strength, increase your endurance, burn fat, get lean, increase your overall mobility AND have fun and not get bored…
